Bohnengold

A typical living room bar with beer on tap and fair prices. Turns into a nightclub on weekends. Smoker-friendly!

Close to Landwehrkanal in Reichenberger Straße is Bohnengold, an inconspicuous bar, that integrates itself into the streetscape of the lively district.

The diner radiates the typical Berlin living room charm: A little bit smoky and infamous, with retro furniture, rustic wooden tables and unrendered walls, that are partially tagged with graffiti. The atmosphere is enriched by a few pictures drawn on the wall and the large bar. You’ll be served beer from the tap and be part of the majority if you decide to smoke. On the weekends you can just enjoy a relaxed evening with your friends or make new acquaintances at the bar.

On the weekend all four rooms are open and the bar turns into a nightclub. Be prepared for a bag check and to pay a relatively low price at the entrance. There is a lot of seating available at one of the tables close to the bar, where you can socialise, and a dance floor in the back, to shake a leg. The music is mostly electronic and persuades you to dance until the morning among an international audience.

JUMP Berlin‘s opinion:

We recommend to you to start on early in the night rather than later. On weekends, Bohnengold is quite well-attended and seating availability can be rough. Stop by for a round of football table or Table Tennis Tuesday! It’s a great place to either start the night or stay the night. Not so great for non-smokers though…
