Katz Orange

Elegant restaurant and bar in Mitte. The profusion of wines and variety of meals will amaze you.

It used to be an old brewery, but since 2012 Katz Orange welcomes guests to a renovated and rustically furnished space that has managed to become an essential part of Berlin’s dining destinations.

Ludwig Cramer-Klett, also the owner of Panama in Schöneberg/Tiergarten and founder of Contemporary Food Lab, has built an institution within brick walls, that opens up into a sunny courtyard and is influenced by South American elements. The combination of a down-to-earth and yet luxurious environment mirrors his wish to make the customer “feel like in a second home of his”.

The menu is seasonal and dishes can include both a typically German Spreewald lamb with mashed green peas and a surprising turn-around into the far corners of global cuisine. Similarly exceptional is the wine menu, that lists over 150 different wines. At the centre of this gastronomic business, stands the wish for complete sustainability and authenticity that is realized through many fresh ingredients both in the restaurant and the bar.

JUMP Berlin’s opinion:

The right place in Mitte to find a dinner of higher value, that absolutely justifies its lofty price range. We recommend to you all meals of meat, such as the 12-hour braised Duroc pig. A true culinary delight!
