Santa Maria
One of the most successful businesses in Berlin is the Mexican Santa Maria in Kreuzberg. It opened its doors in 2010 and since then expanded into the Santa Cantina and two additional branches. It is a solid part of Berlin’s gastronomic culture and nightlife.
It aligns itself perfectly with the raw and unvarnished facade of Oranienstraße, while it manages to create a very comfortable aura.
In fact, it is a combination of both diner and bar: The interior is enhanced with Mexican art, a large counter and a trendy blackboard, that describes various menu items. Outside seating is available, allowing guests to be exposed to the fuss of Oranienstraße.
Be prepared for rich burritos, tacos, quesadillas, appetisers and tostadas. Whether you want a side with pork, chicken or beef or vegetarian, vegan or gluten free alternative, you can find everything here.
And for the thirsty of you…the margaritas, cocktails and tequila will serve you well!

Santa Maria is well known in Berlin and has the reputation of being one of the pioneers of authentic Mexican food! It’s always a little busy but no one ever gets unfriendly. A great place to enjoy a night out with friends, ΄comida deliciosa’ and ‘bebidas ricas’!
