Alexa
Since its opening in 2007, the Alexa has been one of Berlin’s largest shopping centres. At Alexanderplatz, the shopping palace with its striking pink-coloured façade offers space for 180 shops on five floors. In addition to numerous shopping facilities, a generous food court with various bistros and restaurants attracts visitors. In the attic there is a gym.
You are more in the mood for a large shopping center than for a shopping street? Then you should drive to the U-Bahn station Alexanderplatz and stop by the Alexa. In this well-known shopping center everyone should find something on one of the five floors. There are various shops and everything is arranged as if you were walking on a small shopping street. This is deceptive, however, because you can find 180 shops in the Alexa and a floor with fast food restaurants, in case you need a coffee or a snack in between. You can truly spend a whole day in this center, which is perfect when it’s raining or snowing outside. Various shops are at your disposal, not only fashion stores, but also a very large electronics market. Of course, the commercial brands are also represented. So if you want to really let off steam, then you should plan the Alexa for a shopping day.
JUMP Berlin says:
The city’s fourth-largest shopping centre offers virtually everything you can buy. It doesn’t look very chic, but it has all the heavyweights of the retail trade in its repertoire. A good alternative for hungry people who are looking for a place to eat away from the often crowded restaurants and snack bars around Alexanderplatz.
