Zum Starken August
Although it only opened in 2015, Zum Starken August has already become a big hit in the Prenzlauer Berg bar scene. And this is not only because it is a stone’s throw from the Eberswalderstraße underground station, but also because it offers a strong weekly programme of events.
The entrance to Zum Starken August is located directly at Schönhauser Allee. Above the entrance there is a shining sign, on which you can read the current weekly program. After entering the bar, a typical Berlin view opens up to you. The interior is colourful and wildly designed, old wooden tables in the saloon style meet bright, motley neon lights.
The comfortable armchairs, sofas and pedestals invite you to a long stay and a humorous, shrill night. The program changes daily and ranges from bingo to burlesque shows, including surprises and fun. The waitresses are young, friendly and super fun, the selection of drinks on offer is varied and there are more than ten kinds of draught beer! If you want to go in, you have to pay a self-chosen amount of between one and ten euros, depending on what the evening is worth to you.
JUMPBerlin says:
Our highlight: Wild Bingo with the wonderful Gisela Kloppke, always on Mondays. Otherwise, the burlesque shows, porn karaoke and the pyjama party are highly recommended. For more information on the events visit Zum Starken August on Facebook.
