Sauer Mutter

Small big dance bar in the heart of Neukölln. Here there are extremely tasty drinks and bass-heavy, typical Berlin music and a dancefloor in the cellar.

Tanzbar Sauer Mutter is located in the trendy Berlin district of Kreuzberg. She is known for long, rambling nights, good drinks and excellent service. The best way to reach Sauer Mutter is via the underground station Schönleinstraße or Görlitzer Bahnhof.

The Sauer Mutter is located relatively inconspicuously in a side street of the Paul-Linke-Ufer in the Forster Straße. From the outside, the bar is decorated with a rusty, framed glass wall. So you can already guess from outside what wild nights have taken place here. Don’t let the SM on the windscreen irritate you and dare to step over the threshold. On entering, we immediately noticed the wooden bar and the bar stools with green velvet upholstery, which immediately invite us to linger. The bar is relatively simple and modern and offers only limited space on the ground floor. But as soon as you enter the cellar and with it the dance floor, there is already more room to dance. The sound system “FUNCTION ONE” is unique and the beats correspond to the typical Berlin electro, house and techno flair. The staff at Sauer Mutter always has a funny saying on their lips and mixes you extremely good drinks at comparatively cheap prices, we had the best gin and tonics we’ve tasted so far in Berlin.

JUMPBerlin says:

The Sauer Mama in Berlin – Kreuzberg is not only a good alternative, if you have not come to the big clubs like the Berghain or the Sisyphos, we recommend you to make the dance bar your evening location.
