Boxhagener Kiez
For those who are not big fans of long shopping streets and a lot of bustle, you are in good hands at Friedrichshain. In the Boxhagener Kiez, Wühlischstraße and the surrounding area, there are many boutiques, colorful second-hand and cool sneaker shops. In this neighborhood you can feel the colorful side of Berlin, which is a great mix of cozy shops, cafes and restaurants.
Once you arrive at S-Bahn station Warschauer Straße head towards Boxhagener Platz. Your first stop should be Kopernikusstraße 12, where you can do relaxed shopping with a backdrop of nice music. Workaholic should definitely be on your list where only things by small labels, local producers and DJs are distributed. Further down the street there are three other nice little shops, including Skid Row Store where you can buy great sneakers and urban wear. Afterwards, follows the shop Fette Beute where you can expect motley colors and funky dresses. Don’t forget to also visit Koperni-Kuss if you want to get some fancy presents.
Now head further down to Wühlischstraße. It’s best to just stroll around and let yourself be surprised by the many small shops or go to one of the nearby streets, for example in Simon-Dach-Straße. In this famous party corner, you can check out Waterproof or drink a cocktail to rest from the shopping strains. Then you can choose to walk around Boxhagener Platz and either go along Grünberger or Krossener Strasse where you will find many shops. Also worth your time is Gärtnerstraße, with at least two great stores, such as Schwesterherz (decorations, special gifts and stationery) and HHV (urban streetwear). As an added highlight there are great restaurants and snacks around Boxi so take some time to explore the neighbourhood.
