When Cynthia Barcomi moved from her native Seattle to West Berlin in 1985, all alone and without knowing a word of German, she first worked as a dancer and lived out her passion for cooking and baking in her own home. In 1994 she finally founded Barcomi’s Café & Kaffeerösterei in Bergmannstraße in Berlin-Kreuzberg, which still exists today alongside the location in Sophienstraße. Since then, her creations have been served in upscale establishments such as the KaDeWe or the Hotel Adlon at the Brandenburg Gate. Barcomi’s in Sophienstraße 21 in Berlin – Mitte is located between Rosenthaler Straße and Hackesche Höfe and not only serves delicious homemade food, but also sells homemade coffee. It enjoys great popularity, especially among Berliners, because the delicious cakes, pies, cupcakes, muffins, cookies and bagels are unique in their taste and completely handmade. For all creations only the best ingredients were used, everything is also available to take away, so you can take a small midnight snack or a breakfast. The in-house coffee roastery provides you with unique coffee quality and regularly inspires us anew. Despite the hectic pace and impatient guests, the staff is always there for you and very friendly and will be happy to give you recommendations and clarify all ingredients and questions.
