Markthalle Neun
Markthalle Neun is a historic street-food market in Kreuzberg, that has turned into a great place for a culinary adventure. Since its renovation in 2011, the grand hall supplies us with local delicacies and specialities from all over the world. To name just a few… we have a French winery, Spanish Tapas, handmade pies from New Zealand and an Italian and Japanese bakery.
There are several events to visit throughout the week: Crowded Street Food Thursday, when suppliers, that do not have the necessary capital to open up their own restaurant, have the opportunity to draw the public’s and possible investors’ attention to themselves. Breakfast Market in the morning for any hungry tummy spreads out one mile in radius, several workshops and cooking classes take place and occasionally many festivals like the Berlin Coffee Festival, Berliner Naschmarkt, Cheese Berlin and Wurst & Bier.
If you’re interested in cooking, you can also purchase one of the books or magazines related to topics nutrition, food and diet.
JUMP Berlin’s opinion:
Markthalle Neun has established itself as one of the most prominent locations in the Berlin food scene. No matter the time, you can drop in and simply get inspired, have a nibble on some foreign snacks or participate in the activities!
The queen of all Berliner street-food-markets. An all-around experience for a stroll, inspiration and definitely some tastings!
